Your Website May Look Fine. That Doesn't Mean Everyone Can Use It.
Making sure you have an accessible website isn’t always easy. You may not notice these little issues:
- A menu that’s difficult to use without a mouse
- A form that doesn’t work well with a screen reader
- Text or buttons that are hard to read because of low colour contrast
- Links or buttons that aren’t clearly labelled
- Headings that make the page harder to understand or navigate
- Images that are missing useful alternative text
That’s why we look further than single errors to answer a more useful question: Can people actually navigate your website, understand your content, and complete the actions that matter?

THEM VS. US
More Than an Automated Accessibility Scan
| Automated Accessibility Checker | Cheeky Monkey Accessibility Audit |
|---|---|
| Finds issues software can detect | Combines automated and human testing |
| Produces errors and warnings | Explains what findings mean for real users |
| Reviews technical issues individually | Looks at pages, components, and user journeys |
| Requires interpretation | Provides clear recommendations |
| Tells you what may be wrong | Helps you decide what to fix first |
You don’t need another list of accessibility errors. You need to know what matters.
WE PRIORITIZE
100 Accessibility Issues Don't Mean 100 Equal Priorities
Finding issues is only the first step. We help you decide what deserves attention first by considering:
User Impact
How much does the issue affect someone’s ability to use the website?
Importance of the Journey
Does it interfere with applying, registering, donating, contacting you, or another key task?
How Widespread It Is
Is it isolated to one page or repeated across the site?
The Opportunity
Could one template or component fix resolve the problem in multiple places?
The goal is to give your team a manageable plan — not a longer to-do list.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a website accessibility audit?
In our website accessibility audit, we review your website, identifying issues that may make it difficult for people with disabilities to access content or complete important tasks.
Is this different from an accessibility checker?
Yes. Automated accessibility tools are useful, but they can only identify certain issues. Our audit adds human testing, context, prioritization, and recommendations.
What standards do you test against?
Our audits are built around WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines), typically WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
Our team also has experience working with accessibility requirements and frameworks such as AODA in Ontario, Section 508 in the U.S., and ADA-related web accessibility requirements. These can reference different versions of WCAG.
For example, AODA currently references WCAG 2.0 Level AA, while the ADA Title II web rule for U.S. state and local governments uses WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
At the start of your audit, we’ll confirm the appropriate standard and scope based on your organization and requirements.
Do you test every page?
Usually not. We review a representative sample of important pages, templates, components, and user journeys unless a larger audit is specifically scoped.
Will this make our website ADA compliant?
An audit identifies accessibility issues and recommends improvements. It isn’t a legal certification or guarantee of ADA compliance.
Can you fix the issues too?
Yes. Our UX, development, content, and website support teams can help implement and retest improvements.
